Tournus was founded by the romans 2000 years ago. But its most amazing period was the Middle-Ages, when the abbey Saint-Philibert was built. It was a spiritual center. The monks built a very beautiful chuch which synthesize the different ages of romanesque style. The building overhangs always the Saone valley. The tour lasts 2 hours and includes the visit of the church and of the city. Meeting point in front of the train station.
